Planet Green to Launch With GM, Fast Company Pacts
Fast Company will help Discovery create FC-branded segments spotlighting businesses that are doing good for the environment while helping their bottom lines.
Planet Green has partnered with GM and Fast Company for its launch
Discovery Communications has inked General Motors as a sponsor of Planet Green, the eco-focused network it's launching June 4. As the exclusive automotive partner, GM's Chevrolet marque will be the premier sponsor of Greensburg, a 13-part documentary series produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way, which makes its debut June 15.
The series will document the reconstruction of a hamlet in Kansas that was mostly destroyed when a tornado touched down in 2007. The city council of the town, aptly called Greensburg, resolved to rebuild the community to "green" standards.
Discovery also signed Mansueto Ventures' Fast Company as a content and marketing partner. The business title will help Discovery create FC-branded segments spotlighting businesses that are doing good for the environment while helping their bottom lines. The segments will appear on Planet Green's prime-time show, G Word, which will run a half hour every Monday through Thursday. As part of the deal, FC will promote Planet Green in the magazine, collaborate with the network on two conferences, and team up on the sales side with Planet Green to sell packages in book and on G Word.
