CHRISTINE OSEKOSKI NAMED PUBLISHER OF FAST COMPANY MAGAZINE
Magazine Posts Dramatic Revenue Growth Amid Challenging Publishing Environment
NEW YORK, August 13, 2007 - Mansueto Ventures, publishers of Inc. and Fast Company media brands, announced today that Christine Osekoski, 38, has been promoted to Publisher of Fast Company magazine, effective immediately. Osekoski is based in Mansueto's New York City headquarters.
With this promotion, Osekoski will be responsible for driving the brand management and leadership of Fast Company's advertising sales, promotion, and marketing, and be responsible for creating strategic integrated advertising partnerships.
Osekoski's promotion follows Fast Company's steady growth in ad sales, newsstand sales, and Web traffic after investments made by Joe Mansueto since his purchase of the magazine nearly two years ago. According to The Publishers Information Bureau (PIB), Fast Company's ad pages through the first half of 2007 jumped 8% and ad revenue grew 14%, to $14 million, while competitors lost ground (Forbes is down 4%, Fortune is down 17%, BusinessWeek is down 11%, and Business 2.0 is down 33%).
"Since joining Fast Company, Christine has created a dynamic sales environment," said Mansueto Ventures CEO John Koten. "Under her leadership, the magazine has seen a significant up tick in ad pages. New advertisers in Fast Company this year include RIM/Blackberry, HP, Volkswagen, Infiniti, BMW, Dow, and Dyson."
"Fast Company has a distinctive voice that is resonating with both readers and the advertising community," said Fast Company Editor and Managing Director Bob Safian. "I look forward to working with Christine to build on the magazine's momentum. Her vision will be instrumental as we continue to expand the Fast Company brand"
Osekoski joined Fast Company in April 2006 as National Sales Director. Prior to that she was eastern advertising manager for Car and Driver and Road & Track at Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. She was responsible for the development of non-endemic business and created and sold successful multi-advertiser integrated programs that included automotive and non-endemic partners. Prior to HFMUS, Osekoski served as Integrated Sales and Marketing Director at Parade magazine. She also held positions of Midwest Account Manager at Parade, and Account Executive at DDB/Chicago.
